Subsidence Site Tree Surveys
In 80% of subsidence cases (according to the Loss Prevention Council's 1995 Report), trees
and/or shrubs are suspected as having contributed to the building's movement due to soil
water abstraction by tree roots causing clay shrinkage between the founds.
A Subsidence Site Tree Survey comprises:
- Vegetation appraisal
- Root identifications
- Soil analysis
- Off-level monitoring
Pre-Purchase Tree Surveys
Subsidence claims have cost insurers up to £500M a year in the past decade.
Consequently, some building societies and insurers request an arborist's report in
addition to the surveyor's.
A Pre-Purchase Tree Survey comprises:
- Tree health & safety
- Risk of damage to light structures
- Subsidence risk assessment
Pre-Development Surveys
- Evaluation of the potential effect of the building upon the trees and vice versa
- Evaluation of the effective building area
